This program helps individuals learn how to make and keep friends. Many children, adolescents, and young adults would benefit from social skills training. Unfortunately, many programs are simply not effective. The Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills (PEERS®) was developed at UCLA in 2005 and is a specific program of ecologically valid and research validated social skills shown to have lasting positive impact.

Although we see benefit for almost everyone with these skills, it can be particularly helpful for individuals with ADHD, anxiety, depression, Autism Spectrum Disorder, or other social challenges.

Topics include:

  • Entering and exiting conversations
  • Conversational skills
  • Using humor appropriately
  • Choosing appropriate friends
  • Handling arguments and disagreements
  • Handling rejection, teasing, and bullying
